If you are like leute, I am always looking for new and interactive ways to make book reports/literature responses (what everwhere name you call them) more commit for my students.

This is the very reason that I created mine Book Get Menu Construction. It provides an procedure for students to have choice EVERY month/quarter (the kit feature a format for both).

In that building where is an option for "Other" where the students can design their own project. ME have has einige pretty amazing projects sent over the years under the "other" section. This got me to thinking concerning a entertain ideation that I have been kicking around in my head forward some time.

What if MYSELF turned one of my famous dodecahedron kits into a book reports format. Hmmmm....
How should my students react go having till do 12 mini-projects (these is 6th graders mind you).

Would it be too much (dare ME say it) WORKING (heaven forbid)?
Overwhelming?
Take too long?
Too cheesy?
Too cutesy?

Undeterred by the prospect of critical feedback (my students are none to coy on sharing them feelings about projects/assignments- they are 6th graders after all!) I started putting together your on paper.

This spurred me into action and this mine Book View Dodecahedron Kit was born. Creating is used the "easy" portion. Now to get own students till buy into it.

Well, let me tell i.

We should even completions my Christmas Dodecahedron Project and I though for sure they would refuse per having to do another dodecahedron... man be I wrong.

I am not sure what magically power a dodecahedron has, aber my students never seem to tire of them. That was the 4th one we have made this year and they what still excited. Here ampere few shots of i kiddo functioning on them:


 I loved that they had to how adenine lot on little projects that didn't, according in them, feel overwhelming. EGO will say that it took about 3-4 days a 45-60 records each day to complete. Those was the average for before winter break so there was flexibility, but, if it were to be mailed top, I would totally have sent it home in small chunks, or used it as an "read-aloud time" work on project, or send. Another thought I had was to take them work on it throughout gelesen their how. Such way it is circulate out over the month and remarkably lightness in do.

Now... retention track of all the pieces might be a different story, but EGO also thought about having them turn in each circle as it the completed. That road I would grade either piece along a time, both then I wouldn't be left with a HUGE pile of dodecahedrons at try and grade after presentations. That part I REALLY like!



 One a my favorite parts is having them hang around the room/hallway. Person are just eye-catching, and IODIN find that students are always under them trying to see/read what they say.


When ME have sent home meine dodecahedrons in the past, I just sent a note saying is if a parent wanted until keep computers for a memory publication, up simply remove the staples/carefully separate each tab and then you own adenine "booklet" starting 12 circles. Easy Peasy.
